Fall Must Have: Maxi

One of the perfect pieces to take you and your wardrobe from Summer-to-Fall this year is a maxi dress. They’re versatile and easy to layer so you can continue to wear them when the temperatures start to drop.

{If you’re not in the mood for a dress then a skirt is the next best option. A bold color or a fun fabric can add some serious punch to your look – This red pleated number from Beth Animal Print is one of my favorites this year!}

{You can easily & stylishly layer a sweater or jacket over your dress to stay warm like So You Agree does in this shot.}

{Are prints and bold colors not your style? Invest in a classic black or grey dress that can be updated throughout the year – It’s amazing what a difference layers can make – Just ask Adelle from Fashionista Lab}

{Left – Like Mynded ‘Grace’ Maxi Skirt, Center – Lush Knit Tie Dye Maxi Dress & Right – ASTR Lace Inset Maxi Dress}

There’s nothing boring about the maxi dresses and maxi skirts out there this season. If you’re a girl who likes to make a statement then try a bright hue or a bold print. Prefer the classics? Stick with a black or neutral, but find one with a little something extra like a dramatic low back, romantic lace details, or an eye-catching hemline.

Once you’ve picked out your dress or skirt you can easily update your look from Summery to Fall-ready by swapping out your sandals for cute flats or ankle booties, and by layering on a sweater or jacket.

Tell me – What’s YOUR favorite way to wear a maxi?

  5. Thanks for including me love!! I can’t get enough of maxi’s they are my instant go to when I’m in a relaxed mood.

  6. I like the leaf print maxi on the left and the bright red skirt. I wear my marbled b&w maxi skirt in autumn with black ankle boots and my autumnal flower print maxi dress with tan coloured boots. I must dig it out the closet thanks!

  7. I wore maxi dresses all the time when I was pregnant, they were great…. but after wearing nothing but black maxi dresses for two straight months, I just can’t bring myself to wear maxi’s for the time being. Probably by next summer I’ll be all in. People look so chic in them! Great post!

    • I agree, it’s a great choice when you’re expecting. Hopefully you’ll find a cute one that strikes your fancy again in the Spring! 🙂
