MCLV Style: Menswear Inspired Fashion

Skirts and dresses are definitely staples in my day-to-day wardrobe – From pencil skirts at work to wrap dresses for a night out to skater skirts for weekend shenanigans.

However, that being said, I also wear pants a great deal. From slim fitting pants with boots during Winter to white jeans for Spring.

While I’m FIRMLY in the camp of Leggings Are Not Pants these “shaping leggings” from Lyssé are in a whole different category. If they weren’t labeled as leggings I would call them Capri pants – They’re thick, well-made, and flattering.

Lyssé is known for their high-waist body shaping design and I was thrilled with the end result. When they reached out to see if I’d be interested in trying a style of their leggings I immediately fell for this black, white & grey abstract floral pair – Next I’m going to try pairing these babies with my favorite chambray shirt.

  5. The style “a la garconne” is definitely one of my favorite. It makes women feel even more feminine. Love the red shoes combined with the rest. Tanti baci amica mia.

  6. I love this style but we can all agree that not everyone can pull off menswear inspired fashion. That being said, you look very fabulous in this style post, Caity! Very elegant. I also love the red shoes, by the way. Cheers from Gig! 🙂

  7. I giggled once reading your post. I would say skirts and dresses.are staples too… but i dont wear pants.or anything other than those so theyre my only choice, really!

  8. I’m actually quite busty so tuxedo type shirts don’t look good on me which is a shame as I am almost envious of this look. I love blazers though so you could argue they’re quite ‘menswear inspired’. I’m with you on the whole leggings front. I hate to see women wearing leggings without covering up their bum! I wouldn’t call your pants leggings at all. I like the length of them. Again, I’m short waisted so high waisted pants are a no-no for me. Love the pop of red!
I meant to say thank you to you, by the way. A few weeks ago you gave me information on cameras and taking photos. I bought my first canon a couple of weeks ago!
