In December I made my way to Berkeley to enjoy FAST’s Fall Runway Show and was really blown away by the professionalism and creativity of the show and the designers.
So with those high expectations I headed back to the UC Berkeley Campus last weekend for FAST‘s even grander Spring Runway Show.
The depth and vision was truly unbelievable for such a youthful group of designers – They showed everything from perfect Spring frocks to enviable eveningwear to satirical modern takes on the #Selfie craze.
In a word – The show was exciting. You never quite knew what was going to come next.
Some of the highlights for me were the Giambattista Valli-esque floral applique on the white gowns shown by Yang Qu, the bright, bold prints that electrified Ponee Ka’s collection, the breathtaking florals & accordion pleats shown by Tina Xu, and the ornate drama of Wesley Yu’s perfectly styled Baroque inspired collection.
The production of the event was exceptionally well done – From the graphic displays on the runway itself to raffles & giveaways to heartfelt thank yous & speeches at the end.
The FAST crew has a bright future in event planning and I can’t wait to see what they do next!
