With Fashion On The Square, a San Francisco Fashion lover’s dream, on the horizon I was thrilled to get a chance to chat with designer Cindy Quach as she finishes her collection for the finale show.
Her recently launched CQ by CindyQ RTW label & Cindy Quach Couture line include both clothing and accessories – And she’ll be putting down roots soon with a Los Altos studio and showroom later this year.
What immediately caught my attention about this designer was her use of fabrics and textures to create really eye-catching pieces.
Sleek, minimal, and boldly avant-garde, her Fall/Winter 2014 collection is filled with killer outerwear – I mean, what wouldn’t I do for this coat? – As well as flattering, form-fitting dresses. The black and grey color scheme is not only perfect for Fall & Winter, but incredibly versatile when it comes to styling.
When I met with the San Jose local to chat about her Fashion on the Square collection and her plans for the future, she brought some of her dresses for me to take a look at. And while I don’t want to spoil the surprise for those of you who will seeing these pieces live at FOTS, I can tell you this – You’d do well to keep this designer on your radar because her dresses will be gracing the red carpet in no time.
But this talented and ambitious young lady is more than just an up-and-coming force in fashion, she’s also a supporter & proponent of wonderful causes. A portion of all CQ by CindyQ sales go to CQ Charitable Foundation which supports children in need around the world. You can also shop her collections with a clear conscious as she only uses cruelty-free, vegan materials.
It’s a win-win!
If you’re in the Bay Area and want to support the San Francisco fashion industry I highly recommend joining me for Fashion on the Square shows this year. Check out the schedule here and be sure to stay tuned for a video of my fun interview with Cindy!
