To celebrate Workout Wednesday I wanted to share a few of my favorite workouts and gym goodies lately.

As I mentioned in my January In Review post, I started a new 12 week workout program from Kayla Itsines, which has been kicking my butt since the new year. It’s less about weights, which have been a huge part of my circuit training the last few years, and more focused on bodyweight moves. It has reminded how much I love plank moves and killer core workouts.

I’ve also been running much more than usual. I’m not training for anything, but I find myself counting down the time until I can get outside for fresh air. I’ve been doing a longer run on Saturday afternoons {Between 5-10 miles} and shorter runs along the Embarcadero once or twice a week {~3 miles}.

{Workout Gear Spotlight: Lululemon Athletica}

For the gym and Pilates I’ve been wearing fun printed leggings from PrAna paired with oversized t-shirts. But I’ve found that for running I like my pants a bit tighter and more structured so I’ve been wearing these Lululemon running tights and Lorna Jane tank tops.

I also can’t stop noshing on date-based energy bites. These protein balls are vegan, gluten-free, and paleo-friendly, as well as being incredibly easy to make. I’ve been adding raw coconut shreds and powdered peanut butter to my recent batches!
