Workout Gear Spotlight: Nike Free

I’m picky when it comes to shoes and I’ve amassed quite a collection of running shoes in the 9 months since I took up running, which includes everything from Brooks PureFlow to Asics.

What I’ve discovered is that I prefer minimalist shoes since the heavy or overly padded varieties are hard on my back and legs. Even on shorter runs, which most of mine are.

When Millet Sports offered to send me a pair of shoes to try out I checked the reviews online for a few of the minimalist pairs to see what the running community was enjoying. After some quality Google time I settled on these Nike Free 5.0s – Which are actually my very first pair of Nike running shoes.

Surprising, right?

So far I’ve done a 6 miler and a few 3 mile jaunts with these and have loved every step. They fit really well, are lightweight and comfortable, and hold up really well on the street.
