September In Review

This September was a great combination of friend-filled weddings, relaxing & rejuvenating family time, and fun weekend getaways. Almost no time in San Francisco on the weekends, but I was thrilled to get some quality time in some truly beautiful locations over the course of the month.

Fashion & Beauty:

September fashion was a curious mix of cocktail dresses, gowns, and bridesmaid dresses, and workout gear. If I wasn’t at an event I was comfy in my Nike and Zella gear.

Beauty-wise September was all about protecting my skin with my beloved Algenist products and trying new eco-friendly hair options!

I also got some serious beauty & make-up tips from LA-based music star Ricky Rebel that you’ve got to try!

Food:

I’ve been switching up my diet in the second half of 2015, with great success so far, so September was more of the same in terms of learning new habits. You can check out more about my day-to-day fitness & nutrition routines here.

Fitness:

Swimming, running, and hiking were the predominant activities for me in September – From chilly lake swims to 2x a week runs to exploring some beautiful places on the trails.

I also broke out some new running tights from the Rita Ora for Adidas collection. Check out the post here.

Goals:

  1. Publish: My writing took a backseat to real life this month and while I initially beat myself up about it, I realized – Eventually – That sometimes that’s going to happen and I need to let myself off the hook. Besides, life provides inspiration, right? 🙂
  2. Move: Swimming & hiking got me outside this month and also helped me get a new view of some of my favorite California destinations.
  3. Grateful: September reminded me how lucky I am to be surrounded by truly amazing people. From my friends-forever to new friends to family, this whole Summer was a glorified reunion and I loved every minute.
  4. Habits: Most of the Summer has been spent out of town and having to learn to let go of my need to plan everything has been pretty therapeutic. Rather than feel anxiety over that loss of control, I found it exhilarating to relax and go with the proverbial flow.

What’s next? Pumpkins, obviously.

What do YOU have planned for October?
