4th of July Weekend: Summer Travel

There’s a lot to look forward to when it comes to Summer – From vacations and long weekends away to picnics, BBQs, and fun warm weather outings.

One of my favorites? The long 4th of July weekend!

This year I’ll be lake-side with great company, delicious food, water sports, and probably too much wine.

Continuing with the fun travel tips and vacation packing posts I’ve published lately, I thought I’d share some of my essentials while I’m getting ready to hit the road for the 4th of July.

A little red, white, and blue is always a hit on a weekend celebrating all things Americana. Whether for you that means a head-to-toe patriotic outfit, some subtle & sweet accessories, or bold, eye-catching swimwear.

Some favorites this season are Fabletic’s The New Americana collection, Chubbies’s Miss ‘Mericas shorts, Studio 15’s backless blue maxi, and you can never go wrong with some chic denim for your blue.

Hats, sunglasses, and headscarves are great options for the 4th of July weekend – Your face shouldn’t be the red part of red, white & blue!

Wide brimmed fedoras, bohemian-inspired floppy hats, oversized sunnies, and chic printed headscarves are just the way to finish off your Summer look.

Sunscreen, moisturizer, and hair oil are musts for a weekend of fun in the sun. Water and sunshine are hard on both your skin AND your hair. Be sure to be good to your body after a day of facing off againt the elements.

My go-to travel beauty products are Algenist Ultra Lightweight UV Defense SPF 50, Jose Maran Bare Naked Wipes, and Macadamia Moisturizing Mask. Seriously, this sunscreen has zero grease – It’s without a doubt the BEST facial sunscreen I’ve ever tried!

I never head out of town for a weekend without planning a thank you or host/hostess gift. Some of the ideas I’ve lined up for this Summer are:

And my number one tip for a fun 4th of July weekend? BE SAFE. Don’t drink and drive, and be sure to keep an eye on your surroundings!
