Nothing ruins a workout faster than looking in your gym bag and realizing that you’re missing something important. No headphones? No workout in my book!
I keep two fully stocked gym bags going – One stays at the office where I use the gym every day and have a locker, and the other is at home for trips to my build’s gym and sauna.
So what are my essentials that are always in my gym bag? Here you go!
- Bose inner ear headphones {Check out my Let’s Talk About Headphones post for all my favorite brands}
- Small hand towel {Especially necessary post-sauna}
- Phone, book, or magazine {To keep me entertained on indoor cardio days – I usually do my social media checking for the day while I’m on a machine at the gym}
- Water bottle
- BCAAs {I usually drink these during my midday workout only or after a morning run}
- Resistance bands {Both of my gyms have these, but in case I can’t find them or they’re being used, I always have my own}
- Change of clothes {I keep a full set in my bag, including socks, just in case I forget something or have a wardrobe malfunction of some sort}
- Flip flops
- Shorts {I never workout in shorts, but I put them on after the sauna}
- Beauty Bag: Chapstick, Aveeno make-up removing wipes, Josie Maran argan oil moisturizer, and deodorant}
- No Cow Bar {I always have emergency snacks on me. Always.}
