For my friends in other areas of the country, the title of this blog post may seem a little out of season. However, for my Bay Area compatriots, layering is a way of life from Spring through Fall. We get blasted with heat for a few days a year, maybe even a full week, in either late September or early October, but Summer is mostly a foggy, chilly affaire in San Francisco. Enter the perfect sweater for All American layering from Gant.

The most consistent thing about San Francisco weather is its inconsistency. A single Summer day here in the City by the Bay can include any of the following – Horizon obscuring fog {Hi Karl!}, light rain, mist, ominous clouds, brilliant sunshine, or unexpected bursts of warmth. As a result, you’ll find that locals carry around wraps, sweaters, and lightweight coats, and stash umbrellas in their cars and at their desks. We’ve also become quite adept at putting together low-key, layered looks that suit our casual, chilly city.
As far as I’m concerned, these shots above are the perfect casual weekend look in the Bay Area – Comfortable, flattering jeans, flat city-walking shoes, a great All American sweater, and an eye-catching printed jacket to finish off the look.
And if you want to snag the perfect layering, classic piece from GANT – You can get 20% off with the code MCLV20.
What is YOUR Summer style looking like this season? Are you layering up like I am?
