September Favorites | Autumn Preparation

Hello, my name is Caity and I love Autumn.

Perhaps, as a Scorpio, I was destined to love this time of year, but there are so many things to love that I may have gone that way regardless of the date of my birthday.

I love the falling leaves, I love the changing weather, I love breaking out scarves and jackets and boots.

Here’s my Autumn preparation list that I started working on this month to get me ready to enjoy my favorite season in style and comfort.

Seasonal Tea:

My tea drawer still has some of my favorite flavors from last year that I’ve been hording during the off-season, so I’m stoked to finish them off and pick up some new ones.

My favorites are pumpkin spice, candy cane, and gingersnap.

Pumpkin:

Don’t judge me.

I may not be a traditional basic bitch who loves Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes, but I LIVE for pumpkin recipes.

Check out my Yummy and Fall Pinterest Boards for some inspiration and stay tuned on IG Stories for some pumpkin recipe attempts starting this week!

Here are a few {vegan, gluten-free, paleo} recipes that I’m dying to try:

Scented Candles:

While peppermint is one of my favorite scents and I use it year-around in my favorite diffuser, I always look forward to candy cane candles coming out this year of year.

And evergreen.

And gingersnap.

Fall Bucket List

Fall is my favorite time of year…

I adore everything about it. The crisp, clean air. The leaves changing colors and falling to the ground to crunch under foot. Halloween decorations coming out of closets and garages and attics. Pumpkin-flavored everything hitting stores and cafes. I love the holidays and the teas and the food.

Read on for my October Bucket List to make the most out of my favorite season:

Hocus Pocus Hallween To Do List Fall October Bucket List

  1. Re-watch Nightmare Before Christmas & Hocus Pocus. They’re both classics and I’m pretty sure I forgot last year so these go straight to the top of the list!
  2. Go apple picking for the FIRST TIME
  3. Hit up a pumpkin patch. Because I would be a #BadBlogger if I didn’t get a picture at one this season.
  4. Pick a Halloween costume – I’ve narrowed it down to two! {Need some ideas? Check out my DIY Halloween Costumes & Halloween Costume Ideas posts.}
  5. Bake an apple AND pumpkin pie

Fall Style Crush: Atlantic-Pacific

This title might be a touch misleading. Because, let’s be honest, Atlantic-Pacific is my style crush year around. Always polished & put together, always chic, always appropriate. I’ve admired her style since I first fell in love with fashion blogging.

And while her Summer street style is something amazing, I swoon over her Fall and Winter looks every year. She’s nothing short of perfection – From making knee-high socks look effortlessly stylish to the most gorgeous outerwear you can imagine to swoon-worthy handbags.

So keep scrolling for some of my favorite Fall/Winter looks from Atlantic-Pacific over the last few years to get you inspired for a stylish season.

Birthday Bonanza

This past week I celebrated my thirtieth birthday and it was a pretty spectacular experience that included a family dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco (restaurant review upcoming), a trip to Sonoma, wine tastings, and a weekend in Glen Ellen with my family & friends.

Here are some highlights from my birthday weekend!

Shenanigans

As I’m sure you’ve already picked up, I’m a big fan of Fall in general and Halloween in particular {Fall Fabulousness, All Hallow’s Eve & October Round-Up}. This year I was lucky enough to attend two fabulous Halloween parties in Sacramento as well as act as American River CrossFit’s team photograph for CrossFit West Sac’s charity Breast Cancer competition.

This year I was excited to dress up twice, the first time as Wendy from Peter Pan in a vintage yellow nightgown and the second time as The Black Dahlia in a fabulous little black dress that my friend made.

But don’t worry, I’m not the only one who dressed up for Halloween this year. Bones dressed up as a CHICKEN! Again. Clearly it’s his favorite costume, doesn’t he look enthusiastic?

{Mammograms In Action – Barbells For Boobs}

And the day before Halloween I watched the exciting Barbells For Boobs charity CrossFit competition which included every shade of pink known to man and even Jessica Rabbit in a stunning red gown.

How was your Halloween? What did you dress up as? What was the best costume that you saw?
