San Francisco Designer: Bird Couture – Skirt Edition

After showing your my first denim-inspired look with San Francisco Designer Irys Kornbluth’s Bird Couture COLOUR collection, I wanted to share the second fun style that I put together with Aimee of The Ohio Transplant.

One bold printed shirt – Two San Francisco Fashion Bloggers – Four fun, stylish different looks!

While both of our first looks were denim based, we went a bit girlier with our menswear tees for this second round of styling. Aimee paired hers with a flirty little mini skirt and I went to hemline extremes with a midi length pencil skirt.

I think that between our two looks Aimee and I covered most silhouettes – Cropped, slim jeans vs slouchy, distressed boyfriend jeans, long, fitted skirt vs short, flippy skater skirt. If this doesn’t show off the versatility of these fun Bird Couture t-shirts, I don’t know what does! 🙂

Do YOU like the skirt looks or the denim looks best for our Bird Couture styling collaboration?

San Francisco Designer: Bird Couture

I met outstanding San Francisco Designer Irys Kornbluth during San Francisco Fashion Week’s Emerging Designers runway show and got a chance to share some of her fun menswear pieces in my San Francisco Menswear post this Fall.

I recently teamed up with Aimee of The Ohio Transplant to show off some fun ways to wear the fun, bold new Bird Couture COLOUR collection.

We ventured from San Francisco to Oakland to scout some great locations & backdrops with the designer, some of her fun new pieces, and of course, my favorite photographer Jennymay of J.Villarete Photography.

This was an especially fun project from a sartorial standpoint since Aimee and I both have a very distinct sense of personal style. While I gravitate towards classic silhouettes & retro styles, she’s got a really fun, modern look, and you can always count on her for a killer hat!

{You can pick up these fun pieces here – And hurry, it’s a limited edition collection!}

For this first look we each styled a new Bird Couture COLOUR top – I paired mine with slim, cropped jeans, a statement necklace & oxblood pumps while Aimee chose a long waist coat, distressed boyfriend jeans & fabulous strappy heels.

How would YOU style your Bird Couture?

Stay tuned for our next look!

San Francisco Menswear

While I was at San Francisco Fashion Week in September I not only had the opportunity to see some amazing new collections strutting down the runway, I also got the chance to meet and get to know some of the designers.

And one of those designers was Irys Kornbluth of I.K. Studio who met with me last week to share her innovative new Bird Couture line – San Francisco Menswear at its finest.

The newest project launched by I.K. Studio is the pop-up menswear line called Bird Couture featuring shirts, shorts & accessories. But hurry, these one-of-a-kind pieces are only going to be available through the holidays.

My favorite piece from the collection?

This bold, fun collection debuted at San Francisco Fashion Week at the Emerging Designers showcase and I was thrilled to be sitting front & center during its unveiling. The styling was perfect, the real world mixture of eye-catching prints and bold black & white paired with distressed fabrics and accessories.

I had the chance to catch up with the designer herself last week to learn about the collection, her goals for the brand, and what the future may hold. So I urge you to get to know I.K. Studio a little better as well – Be sure to follow them to learn about new projects & support this San Francisco-based brand by checking out this short term collection before all the pieces are gone.
