Trendy Mondays: Printed Denim

Jeans aren’t something that you’ll find me in on a regular basis these days. I was a big denim wearer growing up – I actually lived in jeans and graphic tees during my tomboy phase – Which ended abruptly when I moved to Italy at the age of 21 and discovered lipstick, Chanel, and high heels.

But I couldn’t help but fall in love with this great pair of printed jeans from Trendy Mondays. The subtle pattern is easy to play up, but still understated enough that you could pair them with a printed or boldly colored top.

I also really liked the unusual zipper detail which added a little something extra.

During Spring and Summer I could see these paired with a flowy boho-inspired top and sandals but for the end of this San Francisco Winter a camel colored leather jacket and nude wedge booties were just what the fashionista ordered!

Denim Daze: Saako

It’s hard to narrow down what I love most about San Francisco-by-way-of-Spain design house Saako. It could be the amazing selection of bright, bold pieces that they carry… The fact that each piece is so fun and unique… Or it maybe it’s that they use recycled materials to create their gorgeous collections…

After showing off our hippie side earlier this Summer in fringed wraps and turbans, we decided to take our favorite Saako accessories out for brunch.

Is there anything more classically Americana than denim? The perfect jeans that fit like a well-loved second skin, crisp chambray button-downs, washed denim accessories…

They all make me daydream about hot Summer nights and the 4th of July.

When my partner-in-crime KatwalkSF suggested making our second Saako shoot denim inspired, I was all in. I’ve been wearing this TopShop chambray shirt non-stop all Summer and knew that it would be the perfect piece to bring out the colors and prints of my favorite Saako scarf.

The perfect way to accessorize our looks were with bold bags – Coral Givenchy for me, and the perfect weekend bag from Lo And Sons for her – And bright Saako scarves, necklaces & headpieces.

Denim Dreaming: Distressed, Boyfriend, Skinny – How To Wear Jeans For Spring

Distressed, boyfriend, skinny – We all have our favorite style of jeans that we love to rock and go back to whenever we need a laidback-but-fabulous look. I love how jeans have become the new norm – At least here in San Francisco. You’re never underdressed in jeans and they’re easy to style up if you’re headed out for an evening event.

Denim Dreaming Daytime Styling

Jeans are the perfect look for daytime – Whether you prefer a relaxed fit, something more fitted, or even cropped or rolled jeans.

My favorite go-to for a daytime jeans look is a slim fitting pair of jeans paired with a cropped or boyfriend length blazer and a simple black, white, or striped tee. I wear some version of this uniform for most of my after work adventures and weekend meetings.

Denim Dreaming: Nighttime Styling

Making your denim nighttime ready is all about extras – You need to be sure to add a killer pair of heels or booties, a statement piece of jewelry, and a chic little bag.

I love how white jeans look during the Summer – It’s a classic! I mean, Jackie O wore them on Italian vacations for years with a simple black tee and ballet flats.

Not sure what kind of denim to break out for your night out on the town – Why not give a pair of embellished jeans a try?

Denim Dreaming: Weekend Styling

Depending on your weekend plans, denim can be just what the fashionista ordered. 🙂 It’s the perfect time to try out a pair of colored, printed or embellished jeans.

An easy, casual weekend look for me includes cropped jeans or denim capris – My favorite pair are these Paige Denim beauties – And my can’t-live-without-it Splendid tee.
