I’m currently happily shivering away in snowy Manhattan enjoying a little slice of Fashion Week fun – Hoping that you are having a wonderful weekend wherever you are!
Mint Lace Cocktail Dress – BCBGMaxAzria {Similar here, here & here}
My team and I were beyond honored to have been asked to join Tiffany & Co. to celebrate Valentine’s Day this season with the gorgeous Tiffany T Collection.
After showing off some daytime, workwear, and cocktail styling, I wanted to share some of the fabulous behind-the-scenes shots from our recent photo shoot.
The amazing team at the Post Street Tiffany & Co welcomed us with open arms and we even convinced the terribly sweet store director to join in on the shoot. He obliged and the scene Jennymay captured above was one of the impromptu highlights of the shoot!
Today’s post is for the classic diamond lovers out there!
Did you know that Tiffany & Co. is actually responsible for establishing the traditional solitare engagement ring? What you know as a classic diamond engagement ring is still called the “Tiffany Setting” today.
So not only does Tiffany & Co. have a rich heritage when it comes to diamonds, they’re also known in the industry for going a step beyond in order to ensure that you’re getting the best, most ethically sourced stones. I grew up listening to my father lecture educate me on the diamond industry so this is something that’s exceptionally important to me.
When I saw this Victoria band I completely fell in love. Tiffany’s Victoria collection is one of my favorites, it’s very distinct as most of the pieces have these stunning little diamond leaves that make them stand out. One of my very first jewelry crushes was actually this ring from the Victoria collection – I fell in love with in during college.
I’m pleased to share that Moi Contre La Vie has teamed up with Tiffany & Co. to put together some beautiful, festive jewelry looks for Valentine’s Day. We’ve got looks to suit anyone’s style, and pocketbook – From classic diamonds to colorful stones with a modern twist to sweet, feminine pieces you’ll adore.
Whether you’re looking for the perfect, memorable gift for a special person in your life, want to treat yourself to a divine new piece, or are hoping to give someone a hint – You’ll find just what you’re looking for!
Before going through all the beautiful rings that Tiffany & Co. has at the ready we sat down to discuss their process for acquiring stones, Tiffany’s stringent ethical standards, and look through different cuts, settings, and gemstones.
I knew that I’d learn a great deal about diamonds, jewelry, and Tiffany & Co., but I wasn’t prepared for the wonderful history lesson that I received.
A fun fact you may not know about Tiffany & Co. – The beautiful pink gemstone Morganite was named by Tiffany & Co. for one of their top clients – J.P. Morgan!
In the image above Miss Karen Elson wears a 175-carat morganite necklace. 175 carats!
And while I’m not what I’d call a “pink girl” even I have to admit just how striking this ring was. The pink stone is such a fun, bold color – It’s even more eye-catching in person if you can believe it – While still being utterly timeless.
For those of you in the market for a stunner like this one, it’s called The Soleste and the central stone is Spinel.
This past Saturday we ventured over a fog covered Golden Gate Bridge to spend the day in Sonoma house hunting, shopping, and indulging in a little gourmet fare and wine tasting.
After house hunting in the sweltering heat we headed to one of our favorite outdoor dining spots on Sonoma Square, Centre du Vin, which is the restaurant downstairs in the charming old school Ledson Hotel.
An order of moules frites and a glass of vino were just what we needed. And I have to say, I think that moules frites might be the perfect order for us – Sean gets his seafood craving satisfied and I get the salty, delicious carbs. Everyone wins!
After that it was time for a little vintage jewelry shopping at Filigree Estate Jewelers followed by a highly successful trip to the Sonoma Wine Shop. The SWS was highly recommended to us and not only did we have time for a fun little tasting, we were also able to pick up a great bottle of wine for Sean’s father’s birthday.
Two birds. One wine shop.
You can check out my fun skull print blouse & fabulous new Givenchy bag in Tuesday MCLV Style post to see what I was wearing for our Saturday adventures.
Today I’m starting a fun new project with Sasha Maks Vintage that I’m just dying to share with you all – So stay tuned for photos from my first modeling attempt!

This past weekend was a once in a life time celebration for my family – My baby brother, who happens to be the only male cousin, celebrated his recent engagement. He and his adorable fiance drove (drove!!!) up from Albuquerque for a week in California which ended with three days of non-stop celebrating in San Francisco.
The festivities began Friday night with our longtime tradition, dinner at our favorite North Beach spot, Don Pistos. The chips & salsa are amazing and we always gorge ourselves on them long before the food ever arrives, the tacos and seafood specials never disappoint, and their sangria is top-notch. Which is very important in a restaurant.
Ceviche tacos, carne asada, fried calamari, fish tacos, wine & sangria, and unpictured (eaten too quickly…) veggie tacos for me.
Why do boys never tire of trying to scare you?
After leaving dinner, totally stuffed as always, we walked past Washington Square Park and headed to another fun North Beach spot, the always lively brewery Rogue which has great outdoor tables and a huge beer list.
How cute is my future sister? 🙂
I’m always exhausted on Friday nights, the week always seems to come crashing down on me riiight around 7pm, so I made my life easier and just threw on a little black dress and some killer gold jewelry for our Friday night out.
For the main event on Saturday the rest of our family joined us for brunch and bottomless mimosas at a little hole in the wall bar/restaurant in North Beach called Tiernan’s Irish Pub.
And yes, I ate sweet potato fries for brunch. Completely worth it.
Comparing bling with fabulous friends – An important part of any good outing
Most of our extended family departed after brunch wrapped up, so those of us who remained walked over to the beach at Ghirardelli Square for some celebratory bubbly and a toast with a killer view.
Fashion highlight? Realizing Sean had been wearing my little pink running socks from Victoria’s Secret with his new Banana Republic dress shoes all day…
And what did I wear for this fabulous event you ask?
