You can never have too many black jackets.
Well fine, I suppose that my deep and abiding love for outerwear may have influenced that statement somewhat. But despite that, in my opinion,聽like the ubiquitous little black dress, the little black jacket works for virtually any scenario.
It works for the just as well for the office, for playing, and for real life…

While I’m not a fan of mullet dresses, for me聽the silhouette聽of this jacket evokes a military or old-fashioned costume-like coat rather.
Or even the Britney Spears-style circus ringleader… 馃檪
So what do you do when you love jackets but don’t want to just wear the same one over and over again? You find ones with a little something special.
Like, say, a high-low hemline.
The hemline is聽really what takes this piece to the next level – It gives the silhouette an eye-catching, dramatic quality that makes it different from the other black jackets in my closet.

The look above is a variation on my standard Fall look. It’s a combination of an easy-to-wear t-shirt dress paired with a jacket and bold accessories like a snakeskin handbag and boldly colored heels. Easy peasy and you’re out the door.
So tell me – What’s YOUR favorite hemline when it comes to outerwear? How do you feel about this high-low style?
