Trendy Mondays: Printed Denim

Jeans aren’t something that you’ll find me in on a regular basis these days. I was a big denim wearer growing up – I actually lived in jeans and graphic tees during my tomboy phase – Which ended abruptly when I moved to Italy at the age of 21 and discovered lipstick, Chanel, and high heels.

But I couldn’t help but fall in love with this great pair of printed jeans from Trendy Mondays. The subtle pattern is easy to play up, but still understated enough that you could pair them with a printed or boldly colored top.

I also really liked the unusual zipper detail which added a little something extra.

During Spring and Summer I could see these paired with a flowy boho-inspired top and sandals but for the end of this San Francisco Winter a camel colored leather jacket and nude wedge booties were just what the fashionista ordered!

Denim Dreaming: Distressed, Boyfriend, Skinny – How To Wear Jeans For Spring

Distressed, boyfriend, skinny – We all have our favorite style of jeans that we love to rock and go back to whenever we need a laidback-but-fabulous look. I love how jeans have become the new norm – At least here in San Francisco. You’re never underdressed in jeans and they’re easy to style up if you’re headed out for an evening event.

Denim Dreaming Daytime Styling

Jeans are the perfect look for daytime – Whether you prefer a relaxed fit, something more fitted, or even cropped or rolled jeans.

My favorite go-to for a daytime jeans look is a slim fitting pair of jeans paired with a cropped or boyfriend length blazer and a simple black, white, or striped tee. I wear some version of this uniform for most of my after work adventures and weekend meetings.

Denim Dreaming: Nighttime Styling

Making your denim nighttime ready is all about extras – You need to be sure to add a killer pair of heels or booties, a statement piece of jewelry, and a chic little bag.

I love how white jeans look during the Summer – It’s a classic! I mean, Jackie O wore them on Italian vacations for years with a simple black tee and ballet flats.

Not sure what kind of denim to break out for your night out on the town – Why not give a pair of embellished jeans a try?

Denim Dreaming: Weekend Styling

Depending on your weekend plans, denim can be just what the fashionista ordered. 🙂 It’s the perfect time to try out a pair of colored, printed or embellished jeans.

An easy, casual weekend look for me includes cropped jeans or denim capris – My favorite pair are these Paige Denim beauties – And my can’t-live-without-it Splendid tee.

Looks of the Week – Denim Edition

One of the trends for Fall/Winter 2013 that I’m most excited for is the continuation of all the great denim. From jeans, vests & jackets to accessories, bags & shoes – This round-up has a little bit of everything for the denim lovers out there.

{Want to keep your denim casual? Try a looser fitting pair of jeans like this rolled boyfriend style}

{Adding denim to your look doesn’t mean that you have to stick with blue hues – Try pairing a classic chambray shirt with neons for a fun twist.}

{Not in the mood to try a major denim piece? Accessories are a great option – You can add a bold twist to a low-key or monochrome look.}

{Want to try a daring take on denim? Put together a fun head-to-toe look by pairing your favorite jeans with a chambray button-down.}

{Denim is also perfect for layering – Trying mixing your jean pieces with a classic trench or turtleneck for Fall.}

 What’s your go-to denim style going to be for this Fall?

The most important part about taking a look from day-to-night is the accessories. Add a statement piece like bold, dangling earrings or a dramatic collar necklace, include some color with a brightly colored or printed bag, or throw on some fun, eye-catching heels – And you’re ready to go.

What’s YOUR rule of thumb for taking a look from day-to-night?

I have some great news for all of your Sonas Denim lovers – While supplies last you can get a pair of these killer jeans for $89-$99 {depending on the style} online through their Indiegogo page here! These jeans normally run around $250 per pair so this is a killer deal that you should really take advantage of while it lasts.
