Giving Back: Ways of Change

I couldn’t be more excited for today’s edition of the Giving Back series and to finally get to share the fun project that I’ve been working on.

Not only because I’m thrilled with how my film debut turned out {squeals} but because I get the chance to introduce you to an amazing new brand.

In the past few years I’ve really enjoyed getting the chance to learn more about the fashion industry and where our things come from. Not just the story behind the clothing and accessories, but the people behind them.

And today I get to share the wonderful story of Ways of Change, an ethically sourced accessories company that works with refugees who are also skilled artisans. In addition to being a socially conscious company, they’re also giving back to the community as a portion of all proceeds go to support community projects and to improve the daily life of refugees all over the world.

So click the link below to see me twirling on the beach at sunset in some truly unique and eye-catching pieces of jewelry from Ways of Change.

The rings, the earrings, the necklaces, and the bracelets – All to die for!

And be sure to stay tuned for an amazing giveaway featuring this gorgeous jewelry!

And don’t forget – #WearTheChange

MCLV Style: Tiffany and Co Jewelry

I hate to play favorites, especially when I’m surrounded by so many wonderful pieces, but I have to say that I wore some of my all time favorite Tiffany and Co jewelry at our recent event.

The Atlas Collection and Tiffany T are two long-time loves and this cut-out cuff and this rose gold pendant are staples as far as I’m concerned. They’re the perfect pieces for mixing and matching with other styles, and are so versatile that you can easily add in silver or rose gold for a really personalized jewelry look.

I also fell head-0ver-heels in love with this citrine cocktail ring. I love a bold, eye-catching cocktail ring to mix into my daily rotation, especially on a Friday or Saturday night out, but I also really love this particular stone. It’s so fun and unique, and incidentally, it’s also my birthstone which gives it a little something extra in my humble opinion.

But as far as I’m concerned, the Victoria Collection pieces I was wearing this night were the evening’s MVPs. These classic leaf patterned stud earrings are as stunning as they are timeless and this diamond ring has been one of my dream pieces for over a decade.

MCLV Style: Gold or Silver?

Gold or Silver?

It’s an age-old conundrum.

I actually grew up wearing silver in high school and college, but as I got more interested in fashion & style, I transitioned to wearing gold. Over the years I’ve fallen in love with different brands – Tiffany & Co., Marrin Costello, Sasha Maks Vintage – And I’ve explored different trends, metals, and styles.

Recently, however, I’ve been giving my first love – Silver – Another spin around the block. The thought of giving up my hard-earned collection of gold jewelry gave me some pause, but then I realized that I actually adore the look of pairing different metals together.

I’ve even introduced some rose gold into the equation lately with a gorgeous ring from the Tiffany T Collection at Tiffany & Co. And I’m happy to say that the combination of metals helps to give my look a little extra something each day.

I love accessories – From shoes to handbags to scarves – But there’s always been a special place in my heart for jewelry. I’ve adored it since living in Italy in my early twenties, I fell in love with statement pieces, with delicate daily jewelry, and with mixing & matching different styles.

Shop Local: Jewelry Designer Crush Marrin Costello

I love having the ability to shop local and support designers, brands, and companies nearby. Whether that means San Francisco or nearby California cities, I’m grateful to have the opportunity to shop these high quality clothes and accessories close to home.

One of my HUGE designer crushes right now is jewelry maker Marrin Costello – Who currently splits her time between Los Angeles and her Bay Area hometown up North.

I’ve amassed some fabulous pieces from her previous collections. Lots of gold, lots of stones, and lots of different styles – From a gold shark tooth pendant to this killer adjustable lariat to  druzy pendants & boho layering pieces.

But I have to say, I might just be more obsessed with her latest collection than any before it!

The Kiss Collection is everything that I look for in jewelry. Sweet, delicate pieces that feel like they tell a story whenever you wear them. They also mix well with other jewelry, and materials, and are effortlessly chic.

In my book a piece of jewelry is doing its job when all you need to do is add it to your neck, wrist, or finger to finish your look entirely.
