Today marks something of a special occasion here at Moi Contre La Vie. Today I am sharing something that I never in a million years would have thought I’d put on the blog.
Luckily for me – And you – The stretchy material of these pieces allowed me to pull up the skirt and down the crop top for a “peek” of skin versus the six inches the brand expected me to show off.
Special note about these killer heels? I was actually introduced to the lovely ladies of JustFab last year at the Lucky FABB West Conference and bought these heels immediately after getting back to San Francisco. They’re surprisingly versatile and I absolutely adore them!
After sharing my Fashion Blogger Crushes from my recent trip to LA I thought I’d give you a little peek into my Los Angeles Fashion during the trip.
This time of year San Francisco isn’t terribly Spring like and even on days when we get a breathtakingly beautiful blue sky – There’s still a chill to the air or a breeze to contend with.
Needless to say I was excited to get away and get some sun!
After last year’s visit to LA I decided to stay at the same hotel as the conference. Because you only need to be stuck in LA rush hour one time before you realize you’re better off avoiding cars for the entirety of your time in the City of Angels.
My first look for the long, sunny weekend was my current favorite shirt – This easy to wear chambray number from H&M {similar styles here & here} – Paired with my all time favorite skirt silhouette.
Yes, my dears, it’s officially skater skirt season! I swooped up this cute floral skater skirt a few months ago and have been looking for the perfect time to wear it – Happily this trip was the perfect excuse!
It’s that time of year again – Wedding season! If you’re not sure what’s expected or appropriate in various settings dress-code wise head over to my Summer Weddings post for a full breakdown including dress recommendations.
The posts below are helpful & thorough – The perfect survival guide for all of the upcoming Spring and Summer weddings you’ll be attending – Everything from packing essentials to chic updos you can try out this season.
I’ll be playing bridesmaid this July in champagne lace & fringe, then rocking cocktail attire for weddings in September & October. What style are you planning to sport for the weddings you’re attending this Summer?
One of the major reasons that I attended the Luck Magazine hosted Fashion & Beauty Blogger Conference Lucky FABB West, and why I went to New York in February for IFBCON, was the chance to meet other fashion & beauty obsessed writers. It’s amazing how quickly you can jump into a friendship with someone who shares the same loves and passions! 🙂
So with that in mind here are some of the amazing women that I met at Lucky FABB:
Donna from So You Agree… I met Donna at the airport on my way down to LA and it was pretty much love-at-first-talk. Is that a thing? I say yes!
Beth Ann of Beth Animal Print After our one-on-one breakfast last Friday I knew Beth Ann and I would become fast friends – Not only does she have a fabulous sense of style, the cutest kid ever, and a lovely blog, she also has a very cool job at YouTube and I don’t think we stopped talking for even 5 seconds during the span of breakfast! 🙂
Linsey from Law of Fashion Had me laughing nearly to the point of tears within minutes of meeting her. Enough said.
Elizabeth of A Keene Sense of Fashion Is a stunning LA-based blogger who blew me away with her friendliness & great attitude – I love meeting people in line for events. 🙂
Carlina of Allergic To Vanilla I’m not going to lie – Carlina’s gorgeous metallic belt is what first caught my attention, but I was thrilled to find out that not only is she absolutely the sweetest, she’s also an SF-based blogger!
Beth Jones of B.Jones Style Caught my eye from across the room the first day in her stone washed denim dress w/ a great Moschino belt and I was equally impressed by her great modern-boho vibe in the frayed, belted dress above.
Mara of M Loves M I’m a huge fan of stripes so Mara’s adorable black & white striped full skirt really stood out to me on Day Two of the conference. I was pleased to discover that the fellow Berkeley alum not only has a great blog but works in fashion for a site that I adore.
And while I previously met Brittany of The Subtle Statement and Alex of SF Shop Girl they still deserve honorable mention since I spent most of my time in LA with them on this trip.
I highly recommend checking out these blogs and you’ll discover some amazing writers and fun, fashionable ladies!
Tell me the truth, is there anything better than making new friends who share your interests & passions?
