After sharing some of my favorite Italian Fashion Bloggers earlier this year I wanted to introduce you to the ladies that I follow state-side. Here are a few, of the many, New York based street style stars that I adore!
{If you’re in the mood for polished looks, feminine details, and classic, timeless styling, look no further than Atlantic-Pacific.}
{The fabulous Laura of On The Racks may have gotten her start here in SF, but she’s embraced the challenge of New York City Girl with a flourish.}
{London-to-NYC transplant The Fashion Guitar has taken to the streets of the Big Apple with great panache – As evidenced by her devotion to killer outerwear!}
{Pairing polished neutrals with classic, high-fashion accessories is one of Brooklyn Blonde’s many styling talents.}
{One of the things that Miss Danielle of We Wore What does especially well is take great basics and give them a wonderful twist with her own person fashion personality.}
The cocktail dress is a year-around staple for parties and events. From flirty little minis to elegant long-sleeved midi lengths – There’s the perfect style for any occasion and any weather.
It’s all about the details. Anyone can wear black, but a dress with lace, holographic insets, cut-outs, and a fabulous, flattering silhouette is what takes your style to a whole new level.
I recently completed my Fall mecca to New York – There’s something about this time of year that I just can’t get enough of back East. The crisp mornings that are perfect for layers and wandering through the village with a cup of coffee day dreaming about living in the vine-covered buildings.
I may have only been on the ground for 36 hours, but it was definitely worth the trip to spend the weekend with the fabulous teams behind Style Lend and Studio 15 NYC.
This Trouvé Faux Fur Sleeveless Topper is my favorite new acquisition from a productive recent trip to Nordstrom. It’s perfect for layering this time of year since its not cold enough for thick overcoats here in San Francisco. Can’t. Stop. Wearing. It.
At the beginning of last September I headed to sweltering New York City to attend my first IFB Conference and Fashion’s Night Out – The conference was such an amazing experience that I’ve decided to further my fashion blogger education with another once-in-a-lifetime trip back East.
As with my trip in September a huge part of the fun – And the stress – Is deciding what to bring for the trip. Not only is New York City a fashion capital whose streets beg for killer footwear & fun, one-of-a-kind looks, the conference is also a chance to meet inspirational people within the industry and connect with other fashion bloggers – Some of whom may have been instrumental in you decision to start a blog in the first place.
Nerve-wracking.
I was right on the edge of beginning to panic when I read this amazing article from Hilary Rushford at Dean Street Society about similar anxieties & a solution to her own fashion crisis prior to attending the Alt Summit Conference in Salt Lake City – Why I’m Not Going To Win Best Dressed at Alt Summit. After reading it – And quickly becoming enthralled by her blog – I realized that she’s one of the speakers at IFBCON this week. How serendipitous!
With Hilary’s permission to not win best dressed I decided that I needed a better way to approach the packing conundrum. Ultimately I know that for me picking out each piece & styling it in advance is the best way to go – That way I can relax and enjoy myself once I arrive. The other thing that I love is getting inspired by fashion magazines, other bloggers, and all the beautiful pictures I can find online.
While the House of Valentino is known for their showstopping awards season gowns and lipstick red dresses, it’s also known for sending sweet, girly frocks down the runway that leave many a girl sighing with desire – Fairy Tales & Fantasies.
Checking out pictures of street style and every day fashion from a city is a great way to familiarize yourself with the local styles as well as decide what you’re interested in adding to your closet for the upcoming season.
