Flamingo Print

One of my favorite eye-catching prints lately has been flamingos! It’s kitchy, fun, and oh-so-bold. And you seem to be able to find it everywhere these days – From dresses & bathing suits to blazers & sunglasses. So no matter what you’re in the market for, I’ve got the flamingo for you!

MCLV Style: Suiting

When I saw this suit online {similar style here} I knew it would be a fun addition to my closet. It’s bold and eye-catching, and you can easily wear the top or bottom with a more subdued piece to tone the look down.

However, as much as I adore this look, once I had it on and was in front of the camera I was forced to dub it the Joker Suit. Though of course I don’t consider that any reason to banish it to the back of the closet. Sometimes a girl just needs to make an impact!

If you’re in the mood to spice up your work looks and try a fun twist on a traditional suit this Fall take a look at this beautiful burgundy jacard suit from Asos here, this chic wool St. John suit here, or this edgy leather trimmer version by Rachel Roy here. Happy Suiting!

Styling 101: Easy Tips For Mixing Prints

Animal prints for daytime can be a challenge to pull off – You want the look to be fun and eye-catching, but not tip the scales into tacky-ville. We’ve all seen one of those. And cringed. My number one tip for making an animal print – Or two – Daytime appropriate is to pair the printed piece and/or accessory with a solid colored piece. Black or white both make great contrasts, as would a more neutral hue like tan or nude.

These Prabal Gurung for Target heels are going to be a staple for me this Spring. There’s very little I love more than an extremely versatile piece like these shoes – They’ll work great for daytime looks with florals or prints, and be the perfect finishing touch & pop of color for monochrome and nighttime looks like cocktail dresses. And yes, I know I need a 12 step program for Zara skater skirts:)

MCLV Style: Animal Prints + Leather

I just can’t get enough of skater skirts right now – The silhouette is just so fun and flirty. And versatile! You could easily tuck a button down into this skirt, pair it with ankle boots or flat booties, or even Summer-fy it with sandals & a tank. I officially have three of these skirts in red, black/leather, and leopard print.

These shoes are without a doubt the most comfortable heels that I own. And one of the most adaptable pairs of shoes in my closet – They look great with pants, skirts, and dresses. And while I’ve never been able to find them online here are two similar styles that you might be interested in – Madden Girl Juniper Sandal or Steve Madden Cityline.

MCLV Style: Animal Prints

Nothing in the world is easier and more comfortable for a Saturday full of errands than leggings and a tunic. The main pieces in this look are the definition of basic black.

In order to keep the look from being boring I spiced it up with my new oversized orange+cheetah BCBG clutch, zebra print smoking flats, and a vintage elephant pendant. Cheetah, zebra, and elephant, you say? Now that’s not so basic!

Are you a fan of mixing prints? What about mixing animal prints like I did here? How many different prints is too many in your opinion?
