What I love most about designer Alyssa Casares’s designs is that she creates each collection with real women in mind, and each collection contains everything that you could need for that season.

Her Fall/Winter 2014 collection was filled with rich fabrics like wool and Jacquard, shown in varying shades of silver and navy blue. And true to form – Everything a San Francisco lady could need for Fall in the Bay Area was present.

San Francisco Designer: Bird Couture – Skirt Edition

After showing your my first denim-inspired look with San Francisco Designer Irys Kornbluth’s Bird Couture COLOUR collection, I wanted to share the second fun style that I put together with Aimee of The Ohio Transplant.

One bold printed shirt – Two San Francisco Fashion Bloggers – Four fun, stylish different looks!

{Caity’s Wearing: Pencil Skirt – Aqua, Bag – Z Spoke by Zac Posen & Patent Oxfords – Franco Sarto // Aimee’s Wearing: Skirt – H&M, Jacket – Forever 21, Heels – Zara & Bag – Coach}

While both of our first looks were denim based, we went a bit girlier with our menswear tees for this second round of styling. Aimee paired hers with a flirty little mini skirt and I went to hemline extremes with a midi length pencil skirt.

I think that between our two looks Aimee and I covered most silhouettes – Cropped, slim jeans vs slouchy, distressed boyfriend jeans, long, fitted skirt vs short, flippy skater skirt. If this doesn’t show off the versatility of these fun Bird Couture t-shirts, I don’t know what does! 🙂

Do YOU like the skirt looks or the denim looks best for our Bird Couture styling collaboration?

San Francisco Designer: Bird Couture

I met outstanding San Francisco Designer Irys Kornbluth during San Francisco Fashion Week’s Emerging Designers runway show and got a chance to share some of her fun menswear pieces in my San Francisco Menswear post this Fall.

I recently teamed up with Aimee of The Ohio Transplant to show off some fun ways to wear the fun, bold new Bird Couture COLOUR collection.

We ventured from San Francisco to Oakland to scout some great locations & backdrops with the designer, some of her fun new pieces, and of course, my favorite photographer Jennymay of J.Villarete Photography.

This was an especially fun project from a sartorial standpoint since Aimee and I both have a very distinct sense of personal style. While I gravitate towards classic silhouettes & retro styles, she’s got a really fun, modern look, and you can always count on her for a killer hat!

{You can pick up these fun pieces here – And hurry, it’s a limited edition collection!}

For this first look we each styled a new Bird Couture COLOUR top – I paired mine with slim, cropped jeans, a statement necklace & oxblood pumps while Aimee chose a long waist coat, distressed boyfriend jeans & fabulous strappy heels.

How would YOU style your Bird Couture?

Stay tuned for our next look!

Spring 2013 Trend: Track Pants

My relationship with the current track pant trend is sort of like a high school relationship – It’s complicated.

On paper – I hate the idea. I like formality and classic styles so a trend that makes pants that could feasibly be worn to the gym appropriate street-wear isn’t necessarily ideal in my mind. That being said, I’ve found myself thoroughly enjoying some of the styles that I’ve seen put together lately.

My conclusion? I like them on other people, when worn right, but I will probably never head to the store expressly to buy myself a pair. It’s just not my style. But if this is your style than you’re in luck, I rounded up some great examples of just how to pull off this trend!

Enjoy the pictures my loves!

{Jada Pinkett Smith is white-hot in an all white look and track pants with a neon tuxedo stripe.}

{You don’t have to feel obligated to try this trend out in basic colors or fabrics – Get creative like Camille Over The Rainbow and try out a leather pair!}

{Want to make your look Spring-ready? Try layering florals like The Fashion Guitar for a fun, eclectic look.}

{Black & white plus a pop of color is a color scheme that can easily be applied to this track pant trend – On The Racks does it write in a Letterman sweater and aqua pumps.}

{If you’re not a heel girl but want to add a feminine touch to your track pants than wedges are a great option. A graphic tee is another great way to add your own personal spin to a look.}

Where do you stand on track pants? Will you be giving this trend a try?
