Spring Shopbop Shopping List

There are a few sales that I look forward to each season and one of the big ones is Shopbop. Not only because it’s a killer sale, but because I’ll often find pieces that I dreamed about last season in the fabulous sale section.

I mean… I got my first Rachel Zoe dress {which incidentally is on super sale right now} during this sale a few seasons ago, so needless to say I’m a big fan.

So whether you’re in the mood for a pretty midweek distraction or in need of some new staples for Spring – Here’s my Shopbop shopping list for your review pleasure.

As you know, I am an activewear junkie. So the first thing I checked out was the workout gear sale. Can you say SCORE? Prints, killer styles, fun zippers, and more. You’ll go nuts for the Rebecca Minkoff RM Active Vita Striped Top, the ridiculously cute Running Bare leggings {70% off! And I LOVE this Aussie brand}, plus goodies from the Stella McCartney for Adidas collection.

Next I took a spin down the flirty resortwear aisle – Searching for everything from swimsuits to maxi dresses to comfy pants for my next vacation!

My current one-piece obsession meant that this We Are Handsome Ambush Swimsuit, emblazoned with a tiger’s head, was the first thing on my wish list.

And my love of maxi dresses while on vacation meant that the Rachel Pally Stripe Cutout Dress immediately caught my attention, as did this fabulous floral Free People First Kiss Printed Maxi Dress.

Basically… I want to abscond to Costa Rica with a suitcase full of floaty, boho chic Free People frocks. Like their Jasmine Embroidered Mini Dress {I want the blue AND the peach!}, the Gummy Denim Dynomite Mini Dress – Talk about a staple! – And the crazy cute Snuggle Up Jogger Pants!

Before heading out of the sale I took a quiiick peek at the designer boutique to see if any of my favs were on super sale.

A few of my obsessions included:

Erickson Beamon Hyperdrive Pyramid Ring – This gemstone stunner is a modern take on a vintage style and I love it!

The Clare V clutches were to die for! Love the splatter printed Supreme Flat Clutch & the chic striped Supreme Fold Over Clutch.

Sam Edelman is one of my go-to shoewear designers and I snagged the Space Blue Opal Suede d’Orsay Pumps {already had the black ones!}. The grey textured Joey Booties are another pair that I really love.

This short-sleeved printed Versus dress was another fab sale find – It’s such a striking, bold print!

Your code – Should you choose to accept it – Is BIGEVENT16. Now go make me proud!

Voyage To Marrakech

A big Thank You to The Factory and The Evans Group for the unbelievable trip to Marrakech last week – Who knew that in the streets of SOMA you could escape to the market stalls of exotic Morocco?

Voyage To Marrakech is an evening inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s glamorous 1970’s lifestyle in Moroco to showcase their Spring 2013 Collection. An illuminated nighttime Marrakech marketplace, with cocktails, food, and music, and live photoshoot presentation, featuring live vignettes inspired by iconic YSL iconic photographs.

Stylish San Franciscans flocked to our own personal Marrakech last week to celebrate The Factory’s new collection inspired by the love affaire that YSL had with Marrakech.

{The looks that evening ran the gamut from ultra modern to vintage inspired to came-straight-from-the-office}

{Cocktails, mannequins sporting Yves Saint Laurent-inspired frocks, friends reuniting, fortune tellers…}

{And the models showed off a phenomenal Spring 2013 collection filled with sleek, shimmering fabrics, vintage patterns & prints, luxurious metallics, faux fur, relaxed silhouettes, and fun accessories}

{I wore a long-sleeved, high-neck vintage shift dress, Zara ankle strap heels, and a fabulous gold necklace from Sasha Maks Vintage}

This was the fifth event that I’ve had the honor of attending at The Factory, check out my posts on the previous events below:

IFBCON – Trends, Styles & Inspirations

This week was the much-anticipated Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference – Otherwise known as IFBCON – Held in New York City right before the start of the Spring 2013 Fashion Week.

“Looking back, what made this IFBCON special was how authentic & original everyone and every panel was. True representation of the community.” – IFB

{Fashionistas waiting to get into the conference @ 8:30am on a muggy NYC Tuesday}

The words above uttered by IFB couldn’t be truer, this was an amazing & educational experience. I mentioned here that I wanted to share all of the fabulous fashion that I got a chance to witness at the conference, so share I will.

{Top Left: Bobbie Austin’s Closet, Top Right: The Subtle Statement & Rachel The Stylish Wanderer}

The personal style of the fashion bloggers of IFBCON was utterly diverse, ranging from hippie inspired fringe and layers, to rock n’ roll studs and spikes, to mix-masters who seamlessly paired patterns, stripes, polka dots, or animal prints.

Needless to say, this conference was a people watching dream!

Heels, stacked bracelets, and oversized bags were pervasive, but aside from that there were so many trends and styles that I’m almost at a loss for how to describe it all to you. Over-the-shoulder bags, spiked bracelets, fun tennis shoes, daytime sequins, camo, maxi & midi length skirts, pleats, round sunglasses, printed & brocade pants, peplum dresses, geometric prints, pajama-inspired separates – There was a veritable sea of beautiful colors, great textures, fun prints, and interesting fabrics.

Nearly as fascinating as the fashion bloggers themselves were the panelists and speakers that we were all there to see. Top bloggers, buyers, writers, brands, publishers, tech wizards, journalists, stylists, social media experts, authors, models – Basically, the best in the biz all there offering us advice, inspiration, motivation, and a vision of a possible future for ourselves.

{The one. The only. Iman}

So in summary, I was lucky enough to spend two days with some of the greatest fashion-minded men and women in the industry. People of all ages, nationalities, races, and backgrounds who have one very important thing in common – An all-consuming passion for all things fashionable!

And what did I wear for this amazing event?

What’s your favorite fashion blog?

What questions would you have posed to fashion industry greats like Derek Blasberg, Coco Rocha, Iman, Kelly Framel of The Glamourai, Lindsey Calla of Saucy Glossie, Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Vintage, Jessie Artigue of Style And Pepper, or Erin of Apartment 34?
