NatureBox | Snack Giveaway

I’ve introduced you to the joys that are NatureBox before – They’re a wholesale, membership-based online snack company. Once you’ve created an account, your monthly $5 fee goes towards your orders each month, and rolls over if you don’t get around to shopping during the month.

They carry tons of different snacks and you can sort the inventory by all sorts of different diets and eating styles. Choose from gluten-free items, vegan snacks, low-sugar picks, or even high-protein items. Some of their top rated offerings include dried pineapple, Sriracha cashews, Kung Pao pretzles, and probiotic trail mix. They also carry coffee, cookies and desserts, roasted nuts, turkey jerky, popcorn, and chips.

Some of my personal favorites treats are the cassava and plantain chips, and the crispy coconut squares. Yum! I also like to get raw nuts and dried fruit, and mix them together to create my own healthy trail mix concoctions.

Personally, I keep snacks in my purse, desk, and in my suitcase when I travel. They range from quick kitchen prep to pick up at your local Walgreens.

Easy Prep:

These are the snacks that you can prep in advance or whip up quickly, which are perfect for road trips or if you have access to a kitchen at your office or in your hotel room.

No Prep:

When I’m traveling or running around town these are my go-to snacks at your local corner store/drug store.

  • Nuts, seeds, or trailmix – Go for raw, not roasted or sugar-coated
  • Larabars – My favorite kind of bar between the ingredients are the cleanest I’ve ever seen for processed food!
  • Fruit – Most stores will have bananas or apples, or you can grab a bag of raisins
  • Rice, Pop, Black Bean, Chickpea, Sugar Snap Pea, or Sweet Potato Chips – Check the ingredients for the least amount of sugar available

What’s YOUR favorite snack?

MCLV Mange: Healthy Protein Snacks

One of my favorite quick & easy snacks are date balls. You can call them energy bites or protein balls, but the premise is simple – Blend dates to create a sticky paste and then add whatever ingredients you’d like.

Some of my favorite combinations are dates, nuts, chia seeds, and coconut.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Dates
  • 3/4 Cup Almonds, cashews, walnuts, or pecans {Really, any nut you’d like} or substitute 2-3 Tablespoons of powdered peanut butter
  • 1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 1-3 Tbsp Liquid {Like em sweet? Try maple syrup. Want to add some protein? Use hemp milk. Keeping it simple? Water!}

Directions:

  • Blend dates & nuts in a food processor until they start to form a doughy ball
  • Add your additional ingredients – Shredded coconut, sesame seeds, ginger, raw cacao or carob, chia seeds, lemon zest, protein powder… The options are endless!
  • Add liquid a tablespoon at a time as, and if, needed. You want the dough to be sticky enough to stay together, without being wet.
  • Once desired consistency is achieved spoon the dough out and use your hands to roll into small balls.
  • Place in a bowl or Tupperware dish in the fridge or if you’re saving for later just pop them in the freezer.

The hardest part for me is not eating them all immediately…

Stay tuned for the next MCLV Mange installment and check out the previous posts from this series to see what you’ve missed so far:
