Spring Fashion Inspiration

I just shared some of my favorite Nordstrom sale picks and the Top 5 Spring Fashion Trends I’m dying to try this season. Well today I’m here to give you a little sartorial inspiration to get you in the mood.

Whenever I feel like defaulting to my weekend uniform – Read: black pants, oversized tunic, and Loeffler Randal ballet flats – Or if I’m staring blankly in my closet thinking “I have nothing to wear” I head over to Pinterest to get inspired. Today I’m bring my Pinterest moodboard to YOU!

{One of my favorite tricks is to play with various shades of a color – Try pairing a navy handbag with a blue floral sundress and a button-down denim overshirt for a fun look!}

{The only thing more classic than your favorite broken-in pair of jeans is a white menswear-inspired t-shirt. This combo never goes out of style!}

{One of my top picks for this season is a printed midi skirt. Pair it with a loose white crop top or a graphic tee for a perfect day-to-night look.}

{This time of year I like to trade my black-on-black go-to looks for neutral hues. Pair light wash cropped jeans with an oversized white sweater and animal print flats for an eye-catching twist on Spring basics.}

Top 5 Spring Fashion Trends

What I adore about Spring fashion is the combination of new and old. Every season, when the sun starts to come out, the layers start to come off. And every season I reach for a few tried & true favorites while I simultaneously begin to shop for some fun new pieces to mix in for the season.

So read on for tips on creating the perfect Spring/Summer wardrobe for 2015!

Ponchos & Capes:

You know I’m a cape girl through-and-through so I’m thrilled that this trend is making the Winter-to-Spring transition this year. So stay warm during the coming months by wrapping up in this season’s hottest silhouette – The blanket! 🙂

Try this killer multi colored oversized scarf version a la Burberry – Minus the $$$ price tag.

Stripes:

Spring is all about prints. Whether it’s florals {groundbreaking!} or flirty gingham, fun – Eye-catching prints are a must.

And my favorite print for Spring, and my go-to season after season, is stripes.

Try a classic striped t-shirt that goes with everything – Especially a floral midi skirt – A bold black & white striped maxi for weekends, or a low-key cotton skirt for lounging.

Not ready to commit to a head-to-toe striped look? Try accessories like a fun striped tassel scarf!

Fringe:

One of the new trends for 2015 is fringe. Not new-new, obviously, but something to keep an eye on. I’m not an all-over fringe kinda girl, but a bold accessory or jewelry piece is the perfect way for me to mix this into my looks for Spring. Brightly colored tassel earrings, fringed leather cross-body bag,

Overalls:

One of the trends I’m loving yet again this season are the overalls, pinafores, and dungarees {depending on where you live…}

I was hesitant to try this trend – Loved seeing it on other people but wasn’t quite sure how to translate that to myself. They key is finding the piece the suits your style personality best – Whether that’s classic denim overalls, a flirty little pinafore, or boho-inspired floral romper.

Feeling bold? Try a sleek jumpsuit for an evening event. The jumpsuit is the new Little Black Dress after all.

Wearable Tech:

From high fashion activity monitors a la Tory Burch for FitBit to cozy pockets on your favorite frock for your lifeline, fashion is taking on technology this season.

I’m a fan of the oh-so-fashionable Frends headphones and the new Under Armour Tech Shorts and the super cute To and From Tote with all sorts of upgrades inside!

What are YOU most excited for this season?
