Workout Wednesday: Corepower Yoga Flow

After spending some time getting to know the CorePower Yoga studio on Freemont Street here in San Francisco’s SOMA area during National Yoga Month, I was excited to be joined for a private yoga flow session with one of their lovely instructors.

A beautiful space and a relaxing, rejuvenating practice – The best possible way to spend a chilly, Winter morning.

I’m fairly new to hot yoga.

I fell head over heels in love with Ritual Hot Yoga last year, so I was ready to give another style of hot yoga a try.

What’s great about CorePower yoga is that they have varying levels so that you can get exactly what you want out of a class. A low-key flow for relaxation, or a killer, upbeat sculpt class for a serious workout.

Workout Wednesday: Fitness Brands I Love

For this week’s Workout Wednesday installation I’m giving you a peek into my activewear collection. Specifically, the fitness brands that I just can’t get enough of these days.

Lorna Jane:

I fell in love with this lifestyle brand in 2013 when I did my very first activewear collaboration. I especially love their high impact sports bras and running tights, you can also check out some more of my favorite pieces below:

Zella:

Zella is the baby sister of Lululemon and a Nordstrom institution. I live in their pieces – From yoga to running to fitting the weights at the gym. My top picks are their live-in capri leggings {which you will, in all honesty, live in}, their tunic length tanks {is there anything worse than inadvertently showing skin at the gym?}, and zip-up jackets.

Bonus? You can also find Z by Zella at Nordstrom Rack!

Nike:

Shoes are an important part of working out and I alternate between my Nike Free 5.0 running shoes and Mizuno Wave Inspire 11 runners for the trails/streets, and Brooks PureFlows for the gym.

Fabletics:

I feel head over heels in love with Fabletics at the end of 2015 when I did a trial. The Adventura tank top is one of my favorites – I have it in all the colors – And I also adore their running tights.

Workout Wednesday

To celebrate Workout Wednesday I wanted to share a few of my favorite workouts and gym goodies lately.

{Workout Gear Spotlight: PrAna}

As I mentioned in my January In Review post, I started a new 12 week workout program from Kayla Itsines, which has been kicking my butt since the new year. It’s less about weights, which have been a huge part of my circuit training the last few years, and more focused on bodyweight moves. It has reminded how much I love plank moves and killer core workouts.

Check out more of my favorite moves in the following posts:

I’ve also been running much more than usual. I’m not training for anything, but I find myself counting down the time until I can get outside for fresh air. I’ve been doing a longer run on Saturday afternoons {Between 5-10 miles} and shorter runs along the Embarcadero once or twice a week {~3 miles}.

For the gym and Pilates I’ve been wearing fun printed leggings from PrAna paired with oversized t-shirts. But I’ve found that for running I like my pants a bit tighter and more structured so I’ve been wearing these Lululemon running tights and Lorna Jane tank tops.

I also can’t stop noshing on date-based energy bites. These protein balls are vegan, gluten-free, and paleo-friendly, as well as being incredibly easy to make. I’ve been adding raw coconut shreds and powdered peanut butter to my recent batches!

What are YOU loving at the gym right now?
