Ritual Hot Yoga | Bay Area Giveaway

I’m am doubly thrilled to be writing this post for all my amazing, yoga-loving readers.

Not only is the fabulous Ritual Hot Yoga opening a new studio in the Financial District, but they’re also doing a KILLER giveaway to celebrate!

Ritual Hot Yoga – The Down Low

Ritual is a unique yoga experience {check out more of my thoughts here}. They play great tunes and you move to the beat of the music. It’s聽a fun, fast-paced yoga practice that can feel more like dance choreography at some points.

It’s also hot.

And dark.

So, in summary, you’re feeling the music, dancing your body through a flow, releasing toxins through sweat, and celebrating your practice by candlelight.

Needless to say – It’s absolutely amazing.

New Studio – The Details

The main studio is in SOMA waaay south of Market so this new spot on Kearny near Maiden Lane is super convenient for everyone who works near/around the Financial District. It’s also just a block from the Montgomery Street BART station for those coming in from outside the city.

And the coolest part of the new spot, IMO, is that the studio itself is downstairs. You walk into the space聽off of Kearny Street and that’s where the showers, lockers, and check-in area are, and then you head down these amazing vintage wrought iron stairs to the practice area.

It’s like a secret getaway!

The Giveaway – What You Need to Know

To celebrate the opening of their new studio – Ritual is giving away some yoga. You can get the New Student Special – That means 10 Days of Unlimited Yoga for FREE {which includes a private session}.

So sign-up below. And yes, you can enter multiple times. 馃檪

2017 Fitness Adventures: Love Story Yoga

After starting an ambitious new project last year called 2016 Fitness Adventures with fellow Bay Area healthy living blogger Jill from Champagne for Everyday, I’m thrilled to say that we’re back at it!

Welcome to the first post of our 2017 Fitness Adventures!

Today I’m聽here to share my thoughts on the new Love Story Yoga studio in the Mission. The studio was co-founded by Lululemon Global Yoga Ambassador Stephanie Snyder and is more than just a yoga studio – It’s a hub for San Francisco’s yoga community with classes, teacher training, events, and workshops.

The Low Down:

I headed over to the studio on a Sunday morning – It’s on Valencia and 16th, a block from the 16th Street Mission BART station, and a ~30 minute fast walk from my new South Beach pad.

The studio itself is really spacious {especially for San Francisco!} with two floors of bright,聽loft-like space and a warm, welcoming seating area when you enter.

There’s also a changing area with lockers and showers downstairs for getting ready for class or cleaning up afterwards.

Thoughts:

I took the Vinyasa Flow Level 1/2 and it was just what I needed – Restorative and uplifting. The studio is heated just enough for a good sweat without being overpowering, and the instructor was sweet, helpful, and easy to follow. They offer various level classes, as well as teacher training, so you can find the one that’s a good fit for you.

I was two weeks out from a race and sore from running and cross training – The class offered the perfect amount of stretching and relaxing. I felt empowered and ready to tackle the day when I finished!

Recommendations:

While I haven’t given all the classes a try yet, I found the Level 1/2 Vinyasa Flow to be exactly what I needed. It was restorative for my body and the perfect mental escape to start off the day. The studio is easy to get to and welcoming, and you can rent mats and towels if you don’t feel like bringing anything with you or if you’re popping in after work.

Definitely a Must Try if you’re a Bay Area yoga lover!

Workout Wednesday: Corepower Yoga Flow

After spending some time getting to know the CorePower Yoga studio on Freemont聽Street here in San Francisco’s SOMA area during National Yoga Month, I was excited to be joined for a private yoga flow session with one of their lovely instructors.

A beautiful space and a relaxing, rejuvenating practice – The best possible way to spend a chilly, Winter morning.

I’m fairly new to hot yoga.

I fell head over heels in love with Ritual Hot Yoga last year, so I was ready to give another style of hot yoga a try.

What’s great about CorePower yoga is that they have varying levels so that you can get exactly what you want out of a class. A low-key flow for relaxation, or a killer, upbeat sculpt class for a serious workout.

MCLV Style: Fabletics Leggings + CorePower Yoga

I found a winning combination this month – Fabletics leggings and CorePower Yoga!

Why is it such a killer combination?

So glad you asked… 馃檪

My favorite style of leggings are ones with a print or bright color, but only on a part of the leggings. Half-and-half if you will.

I really like all-black for the majority of the legging – It’s slimming, flattering, and easy to match聽– But with a little something extra to make them visually interesting.

That’s an especially important distinction for a professional black legging collector like myself…

In all truth, I may need to start setting some activewear shopping limits for myself in the coming year. I have one of those hanging closet organizers for my gym clothes in聽the聽hall closet at home聽and of the six sectionals, three of them are filled with black leggings.

I mean. Some of them have, like, a stripe… So that helps, right…? Right?

Anyway – These ones combine two very important factors. They’re cute and they’re comfortable. And you know what? I’ve never been asked so many times where an item was from!

I wore them to CorePower Yoga after having them over-nighted from Fabletics and five people at the studio asked about them, and I got stopped twice on the street!

Do YOU have a favorite style of legging? Color scheme or print?

Why I Yoga with CorePower Yoga

Did you enjoy National Yoga Month in September?

I sure did!

My main ambition was to program myself to let go of stress and worry when I walked into the door. I didn’t want to fixate on a specific goal, but rather to enjoy every moment of the month that I spent in the studio. I really want to develop聽the ability to shed my daily life and concerns at the door and relish聽the immediate sense of relief and bliss when I walk into a yoga studio.

While I feel like I made a TON of progress on this during September, in part I imagine due to repetition, I also believe that it’s almost a life-long goal. Not something that you can 100% achieve in a month. But every step I take is a step in the right direction!

I also spent some time in September thinking about my answer to CorePower聽Yoga’s insightful #WhyIYoga hashtag campaign.

So why do I yoga? Here are a few of the top reasons:

  • I helps me get in touch with聽ME
  • It forces me to slow down
  • It makes me smile
  • It brings me peace
  • It challenges me
  • It helps me become a better version of myself

Tell me – What’s YOUR response to CorePower Yoga’s #WhyIYoga question?
